Aging, lifestyle, genetics, as well as environmental factors, take a significant toll on our skin. With the effects of gravity pulling our facial fat and skin downwards, causing skin to wrinkle and sag, as natural collagen production decreases and the skin loses its thickness and elasticity. The result is a sagging, sunken facial appearance, and the emergence of jowls at the jawline, often accompanied by drooping, wrinkled skin in the neck area.

Many of our Houston-area patients at Glamour Plastic Surgery and Med Spa come to see Dr. Bachilo in search of a solution to an aged facial appearance, but they have little time for invasive surgical procedures that require a period of recovery.

This is where the Y-Lift comes in. Because youthful facial contours resemble the letter Y, and aging facial contours become more sunken in the midface region, and square at the chin and jawline, the Y-Lift gets its name because it is designed to recuperate the youthful Y shape of the face, jaw, and upper neck.

What is the Y-Lift?

The Y Lift® is a quick and painless “liquid facelift” procedure that replenishes lost volume in the midface and lower face region, particularly accentuating the cheekbones, and lifts the under-eye areas, while enhancing definition in the jawline and chin, and tightening and lifting the region of the upper neck.

The goal of the Y-Lift is to restore the youthful “Y” shape of the face while enhancing your unique facial features, resulting in a natural looking rejuvenation of the entire face.

Only trained and board-certified Y-Lift Providers such as Dr. Olga Bachilo, in Bellaire, TX, are authorized to offer this revolutionary procedure.

How does the Y-Lift work?

The Y-Lift facial contouring technique is rooted in a philosophy called “structural volumizing.” As we age, the facial bone structure tends to shrink and the natural layer of facial fat beneath the skin that defines our plump and youthful cheekbones also diminishes, producing a tired and aged appearance characterized by sunken cheeks, sagging and wrinkled skin, and a loss of contour in the face.

The goal of “structural volumizing” is to restore a youthful facial contour by replenishing lost volume in the cheekbones from deep within the layers of muscle, at once lifting and defining the lower face, jawline, chin, and upper neck.

How is the Y-Lift Performed?

After a thorough evaluation and examination, our team will cleanse and sanitize your face, take before photos for documentation, and apply a light topical anesthetic to numb the area so that you will not feel any discomfort during the procedure.

Dr. Bachilo will use a specially-designed titanium cannula, which resembles a very fine needle, and insert it underneath the skin and muscle tissue of your face, and gently manipulate it to lift and reposition the facial muscles, instantly lifting and contouring the structure beneath the skin. Following this, she will inject dermal fillers containing hyaluronic acid under or above the muscle to adhere it to its new, elevated location, and enhance the volume of the skin around it. She will then remove the cannula from your face and manually contour or sculpt the area to ensure that the filler is smoothly and evenly distributed and accentuates your natural facial features.

The procedure is typically completed in about 30-45 minutes, hence the name the “lunchtime face lift”. The results are immediately visible following the procedure. You won’t need to worry about a recovery period, and in fact, you can resume most of your normal activities immediately following the procedure, except strenuous exercise, which you can resume in about a week.

Who is a Good Candidate for the Y-Lift

Dr. Bachilo recommends the Y-Lift for her adult male and female patients of any age. You must be in overall good health and seeking to rejuvenate your facial structure using a procedure that produces natural-looking results. Instead of changing your face, the Y-Lift restores it to a more youthful version of yourself.

How long do results last?

Results are instant, settling for about 2 weeks, and can last from about 2-3 years.

Is the Y Lift Painful?

The Y-Lift procedure is performed under topical or local anesthesia, and is not painful. Most patients report little to no discomfort during the injections. You may experience some swelling after the procedure, but this will normally subside within a day or so.

If you are dreaming of a facial rejuvenation, you no longer have to go through a painful surgical procedure and weeks of recovery to restore the youthful “Y” shape of your face! To learn more about how you can bypass surgical incisions, anesthesia, scarring, and recovery, and still achieve a full rejuvenation of your face and upper neck region in a matter of minutes, contact Glamour Plastic Surgery and Med Spa today and schedule your appointment with Dr. Olga Bachilo to see if the Y-Lift may be an ideal treatment for you.
